去溪頭的路上有很多甕仔雞店，去山林旅行沒有來吃就覺得好像少了點什麼，鹿谷山腳下的台雞店甕仔雞是我們這次旅行的第一站。

一向很多價格的差距也很大，餐點都要200元起跳，如果是魚類或肉類可能就要500元到800元不等，不過難得出門一次有點貴也是還能夠接受。
清蒸鱸魚
難得最久但也是最值得吃的一道菜，清蒸鱸魚的湯汁配上白飯就很好吃，嫩的魚肉和著這樣子一起入口就很滿足。
麻油松阪
你是看到松阪豬做的這麼水的，不過因為是搭配麻油的湯汁所以還能接受，外太水了所以感覺很像吃松阪豬配麻油湯，松阪豬肉切的好不手軟，但我真心覺得切得太大塊了，比較喜歡小塊小塊一片片比較好入口。
蝦醬空心菜
中規中矩的空心菜喜歡蝦醬的人可以點。
鳳梨蝦球
蝦球炸的還不錯外酥裡面的蝦仁又很暖搭配鳳梨和美乃滋剛剛好，很像一道飯後的甜點。
虱目魚肚湯
用料非常的實在湯裡面有滿滿的虱目魚肚和薑絲，喝完一碗就很有飽足感，有點下雨的天氣來喝剛剛好。
竹筒飯看起來沒有很美味，白飯沒有吃到飽要續碗要加錢。
看到這裡是否發現我們沒有點甕仔雞，其實在點菜的路上媽媽一直吵著要吃，但是我們都沒有點，用完餐以後爸爸才說因為他不想看到甕仔雞出爐的時候折雞頭的畫面，我才發現我和爸爸心有戚戚焉，怕我完全無法忍受那個畫面啊！
整體而言，台雞店甕仔雞是一家價格中等，環境舒適的中式料理店，菜色中規中矩，不至於會踩雷，
喜歡吃甕仔雞的話之前往溪頭之前停留的好地方。
